Betty (nee Donner) Dietrich, age 88, of North Tonawanda, died Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Beechwood Nursing Home in Amherst. Born in North Tonawanda, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Mary (nee Sullivan) Donner and had been a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda. Mrs. Dietrich worked as a secretary for the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra Women's Committee before retiring, and had been an active member of the former Ascension Parish, where she belonged to the Ascension Seniors, the Bereavement Committee and the Ladies of Charity. She had been a member of the Ladies Golf League at Deerwood Golf Course, was a former board member of the YWCA of the Tonawandas, and volunteered with North Tonawanda Meals on Wheels and the DeGraff Hospital Auxiliary. She was an avid Notre Dame College football fan.  Betty was the wife of the late Clarence F. Dietrich, who died August 5, 1987, and special friend of the late William "Bill" Prescott, Sr.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Joseph) Burngasser of North Tonawanda; her son, Michael (Christine) Dietrich of Azusa, California; and five grandchildren, Paul Dietrich of Eugene, Oregon, Erin (Ebon) Bergeron-Dietrich of Bay City, Oregon, Joseph Burngasser of North Tonawanda, MaryKate Burngasser of Buffalo, and CPO Michael (Taia) Burngasser, US Navy of Augusta, Georgia. Also surviving are 5 great-grandchildren, Sullivan, Finn, and Ever Burngasser, Zavier and Solace Bergeron, another expected great-grandchild, and her dear friend, Judy Niemec.

There is no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM on Saturday at Our Lady of Czestochowa R.C. Church, Center and  Oliver Streets in North Tonawanda; the Rev. Gary Szczepankiewicz officiating. Friends invited. If desired, memorials to OLC Church, 64 Center Avenue, North Tonawanda, NY 14120, are preferred by the family. Interment will be cared for privately at White Chapel Memorial Park, Town of Amherst.  Arrangements entrusted to the care of the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Tonawanda.
