William C. Barry

William C Barry Jr., age 90, of Grand Island passed away on July 20th, 2023 under the care of Niagara Hospice. William was a Korean War Veteran who served in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. William and his wife bowled in many leagues and often came home with a trophy. He was a very handy woodworker whose skills ranged from designing wooden crafts to remodeling.

He was a loving husband of 66 years to the late Juanita A. Barry (nee Jarvis). Loving father of Deborah (David) Finn, Susan (Gary) Gleason, and the late William C. Barry III. Brother of the late Doris (Charles) Ellman, Francis (Julius) Maltbie and Patricia (Glenn) Wasley. Cherished Papa to 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call at Fretthold and Hamp Funeral Home, located at 37 Adam Street in Tonawanda, on Monday, July 24th from 4pm - 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis of  Assisi Chapel, 73 Adam Street in Tonawanda, on Tuesday, July 25th beginning at 10am. Interment in St. Francis Chapel Columbarium. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
