Mary M. Kovacs

Mary M. Kovacs (nee MacDonald) age 91, of the City of Tonawanda and Niagara Falls, NY, passed away October 10, 2023, in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a brief illness. Mary attended St. Francis Elementary School in Tonawanda, St., Mary’s High School, in Niagara Falls and Graduated from Tonawanda High School in 1950. She was very athletically inclined and played on several sports teams. In 1976 she graduated from Niagara-Orleans BOCES intending to be an auto mechanic. Mary had worked as an Assistant Dietician at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. She loved being around her family and caring for her grandchildren. She loved gardening and was an avid reader. She was the wife of the late Steven Kovacs. Beloved mother of Susan (John) Kania, Guy (Patricia) Kovacs Sr., Beth (Gary) Bigley, Wendy Kovacs, Timothy (Trudy) Kovacs, Stephanie (Jen) Scott and the late Steven Kovacs and the late Christopher Kovacs. Grandmother of 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by 3 brothers and a sister. Friends may call at the Fretthold and Hamp Funeral Home, 37 Adam St. in the City of Tonawanda on Friday, October 20th from 2:00 – 4:00 PM.
