Edward C. Levan, Jr., age 92, born on July 3, 1929, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2022.
Ed was an avid hunter and fisherman, especially for Walleye. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Edward spent 39 years of service at Niagara Mohawk and retired as chief service dispatcher. He was a member of the American Legion Sikora post # 1322, Niagara Frontier Electrical Contractors Association, lifetime member of the Association for Electrical Inspectors, the former NY Walleye Association, and a standing member of the Southtown’s Walleye Association.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Joan Levan, his son Michael A. Levan, Sr., his parents Edward C. and Lottie Levan, and his brother Aloysius Levan. He will be missed by his son Edward C. (Colleen) Levan, III, his grandchildren Tabitha (Dwayne) Schragel, Michael Levan Jr., and MaryLynn Levan. Great grandfather to Alexis Schragel, Tyler Koslicki, Owsley Levan, and Michael Levan, III. Father-in-law to Mary Levan, brother of Jerome (late Mary Ann) Levan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call at Fretthold and Hamp Funeral Home, located at 37 Adam Street, in Tonawanda on Thursday April 28th from 3pm-5pm and from 6pm-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Chapel, located at 73 Adam Street in Tonawanda, on Friday April 29th beginning at 10am. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
