Richard "Dick" Finn, Jr., age 91, of the Tonawandas, entered into rest on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. Born June 17, 1928 in Buffalo, he was the son of the late Richard and Johanna (nee Hackrott) Finn, and brother of the late Emma (Marvin) Smith. Dick served in the United States Navy during WWII and was stationed on the USS Intrepid (CV-11) during his military service. He worked in the Marine Midland Tower in Buffalo for more than 32 years before retiring as an associate vice-president of HSBC Bank, the successor to Marine Midland Bank.

Dick was a member of the United States District 6, Swiftwater Power Squadron. He received many awards in the Squadron, including Merit Awards in 2006-2008. He began his Squadron activities as an instructor in 1989, becoming Navigation Chair and Instructor. Dick was recognized with many awards, including the highly regarded "Charles Chapman Award" in 1993 as Instructor of the Year.

Dick was also an active member of the LaSalle Yacht Club in Niagara Falls and a very active member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Tonawanda, including serving as a Eucharistic Minister and Altar Server. He was a kind and generous man who was a friend to all who met him. As a devoted family man, Dick believed that family was one of the most important things in life.

He was the devoted husband of 40 years to the late Josephine (nee Gervasi) Finn, who died August 24, 1988. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Patricia (DiBello) Finn; his children, Richard (Melody) Finn of Hilton, New York, Joseph (Sara) Finn of Palm Beach Garden, Florida, Kevin Finn of Grand Island, New York, and Cindy (Thomas) Morrow of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; and step-father of Michael (Kim) DiBello and Keith DiBello. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
