Mary Margaret (nee Weaver) Camp, age 94, of the Town of Tonawanda, died Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Elderwood of Grand Island. Born November 19, 1925 in Oil City, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Mary (nee Lenihan) Weaver. Following the death of her husband, Lynn, in 1969, Mary returned to school and became certified as a registered nurse at Millard Fillmore Hospital School of Nursing. She went on to a nursing career at DeGraff Memorial Hospital in North Tonawanda, retiring in 1993. Mary's love of travel took her throughout the United States, Central American, Europe, Asia, and Africa. On the home front, she took great pleasure in her family and friends, playing cards, tending to her home and working jigsaw, word search, and crossword puzzles.
She was the wife of the late Lynn W. Camp; and mother of Carole (late Patrick) Barnard of North Tonawanda, Lynn (Linda) Camp of Attica, Bruce (Colleen) Camp of Attica, Christopher (Kathleen) Camp of Alden; and the late Beverly A. Camp. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
There is no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM Thursday at St. Amelia R.C. Church, 2999 Eggert Road, Town of Tonawanda. Friends invited. Interment will be cared for privately at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda. Flowers are gratefully declined. If desired, memorials to St. Amelia Church, the Alzheimer's Association, or the Historical Society of the Tonawandas, are preferred by the family.
